Friends,
As we pass the midpoint of summer, we reflect on what this summer has brought us, and what we have brought to one another. Our movement has seen compassionate education through the Dear White People workshop series, resource sharing as many of our member organizations launch their first virtual camps, and a renewed commitment to combatting white supremacy within our movement. We are having conversations with each other, with folks on the perimeter of our political homes, with family and friends. We are each others’ greatest resource.
This month, we uplift this sentiment through the Point of Unity that says: We must hold ourselves and each other accountable. There is power in transformation, forgiveness. We believe that we can teach each other and learn together. In August, we continued learning and growing together through a free two-part workshop series offered by Reagan and Judy of Anti Racism At Work. The workshop was offered to members of the GRCA!
As ever, fascism continues its blood-thirsty grasp for our power. Across our movement and our communities, we see fascists attempt to rewrite the narrative of uprisings in the fight for Black lives and Black futures, to steal the resources and power of the people fighting for each other’s survival in Beirut, to steal the land of the people of Palestine. And of course, to hoard resources essential to survival in a global pandemic.
Let this be a reminder that global solidarity is also essential at this and every moment in history. Let our solidarity be rooted in mutual trust, curiosity, and adaptation. Let us challenge one another to sharpen our analysis, unlearn old ways of thinking, reimagine entire worlds, and step forward together into something bright.

The Caucus Advisory Council held its first meeting of the year on Saturday 8/8 and welcomed our newest members, including Graciela and Morgan. CAC is looking forward to further conversations to set our intention and focus our energy for the year. A medida que pasamos la mitad del año, queremos reflexionar sobre qué nos han traído estos meses y qué hemos aprendido lxs unxs de lxs otrxs. Nuestro movimiento ha ofrecido amorosamente educación a través de la serie de talleres Dear White People, recursos compartidos mientras nuestros miembros lanzaban sus primeros campamentos de manera online y un compromiso renovado de combatir la supremacía blanca dentro del movimiento. Todxs estamos teniendo conversaciones con pares, con vecinxs dentro de nuestras comunidades, con amigxs y familiares. Somos el mejor recurso para nosotrxs y lxs demás.
Este mes, resaltamos esto a través del Punto de Unidad que dice: Debemos hacernos responsables nosotrxs mismxs. Hay poder en la transformación, en el perdón. Creemos que podemos enseñarnos y aprender juntxs. Este mes, continuaremos aprendiendo y creciendo juntos en una serie de talleres gratuitos de dos partes ofrecidos por Reagan y Judy de Anti Racism At Work para los miembros de GRCA.
Como siempre, el fascismo continúa sediento de sangre por nuestro poder. En todo nuestro movimiento y nuestras comunidades, vemos a los fascistas intentar reescribir la narrativa de los levantamientos en la lucha por las vidas y futuro de las personas negras, para robar los recursos y el poder de las personas que luchan por la supervivencia mutua en Beirut, para robar la tierra de los negros, pueblos originarios y el pueblo de Palestina. Y, por supuesto, acumular recursos esenciales para sobrevivir en una pandemia global.
Que esto sea un recordatorio de que la solidaridad mundial también es esencial en este y en cada momento de la historia. Que nuestra solidaridad tenga sus raíces en la confianza mutua, la curiosidad y la adaptación. Retémonos para agudizar nuestro análisis, desaprender las viejas formas de pensar, reimaginar mundos enteros y dar un paso adelante juntos hacia algo brillante.
